Macmillan Publishers Appoints Silverpop to Support Worldwide Email Marketing

International publishing group selects Silverpop to reach out to their ten million registered users

ATLANTA, Oct. 28, 2008 -- International publishing group Macmillan Publishers Limited has appointed email service provider Silverpop to assist the company with sending ten million monthly emails to registered users for its Palgrave Macmillan and Nature Publishing Group (NPG) businesses.

Macmillan publishes high-quality academic, scholarly, and educational journals and books as well as fiction and non-fiction books, and provides a diverse range of third party publishing services to others in the industry. With 350 companies operating in over 80 countries, Macmillan Publishers is one of the largest, most diverse and best known international publishing groups in the world.

 "We appointed Silverpop because their interface is really quick and intuitive to use for sending out new emails," said Adam Sewell, head of business systems at Nature Publishing Group. "Silverpop is a progressive company with a good grasp of email issues including data protection, permissions and deliverability."

Silverpop was appointed after Macmillan reviewed a number of leading email vendors.  The initial shortlist of twelve was eventually reduced to three.  The remaining vendors were then given the opportunity to demonstrate their products to Macmillan staff, from which Silverpop emerged as the top ESP.
