Silverpop Named as a Strong Performer in Forrester Report of Email Marketing Industry LeadersRecent report selects Silverpop as one of the leading email marketing providers ATLANTA, July 19, 2004 -- Silverpop, a leading provider of comprehensive permission-based email marketing solutions, was once again among the top-ranked email marketing service providers in a recent report by Forrester Research. The report, titled "The Best Email Service Providers," was released this month and examines not only the top email marketing vendors, but also the industry, for which Forrester predicts continued growth. Silverpop was ranked as a strong performer by Forrester and makes a repeat showing from Forrester's last email marketing report launched in 2002. Extremely selective in its approach to evaluating vendors, Forrester compiled a list of 43 email marketing service providers and only selected 13 whose revenue, features, market presence, and business strategy differentiated them as leaders in the industry. After its in-depth look, Forrester deemed that Silverpop "stands out with an interface that is quite easy to use while providing strong functionality." Also noted by Forrester were Silverpop's "well-rounded services offering, solid customer support and a well-established management team with a strong background in the industry." Since Forrester last released this report in 2002, the industry has undergone tremendous change. This year, Forrester indicates that email marketing will continue to grow in both size and sophistication as marketers seek increased integration with other marketing initiatives and develop more mature email marketing programs. "Silverpop continues to remain a leader and to benefit from the exciting evolution of the email marketing industry. Reports like Forrester's are validation that we are not only meeting, but anticipating the needs of current and future clients," said Bill Nussey, CEO of Silverpop. "We are proud to be recognized repeatedly as a strong performer in our industry." About Silverpop
ATLANTA, August 9, 2004 -- Silverpop, a leading provider of comprehensive permission-based email marketing solutions, today announced its participation in Microsoft's upcoming sender authentication summit. Members of the Email Service Provider Coalition (ESPC), a group formed to fight spam while protecting the delivery of legitimate email, will join together on August 12 to meet with Microsoft's anti-spam, Hotmail, and MSN teams. As a member of the ESPC, Silverpop will participate in the summit, which will outline plans for "Sender ID," Microsoft's sender authentication protocol. Although there are several industry protocols for sender authentication, Sender ID will address the widespread problem of domain spoofing and provide greater protection against phishing schemes and spammers. According to Microsoft, Sender ID will verify that each e-mail message originates from the Internet domain it claims to come from based on the sender's server IP address. Eliminating domain spoofing will help legitimate senders protect their domain names and reputations, and help recipients more effectively identify and filter junk email. "As an email service provider, we look forward to the opportunity to hear directly from Microsoft what it has planned for Sender ID," said Stephen Guerra, Director of Deliverability Services for Silverpop. "Our goal is to achieve the best deliverability rates for our clients and being privy to the Sender ID plans before Microsoft implements them is key. We have already implemented SPF for our clients and will ensure that all of our clients are also in compliance with Sender ID as it evolves from SPF." About Silverpop
