Michael Banks, Senior Vice President, D.E. Shaw & Co., L.P.
Michael Banks has 17 years of experience as an entrepreneur, strategic consultant and venture capitalist working in the technology industry.
Prior to joining the D.E. Shaw group in 2007, where he also serves as an executive of the venture capital unit, Banks was a managing director of Palisades Ventures, a Los Angeles-based venture capital fund. From 2001 to 2003, he was a managing director of Steamboat Ventures, the venture capital arm of The Walt Disney Co.
Before that, Banks spent four years as a managing director of Intel Capital, the venture capital unit of Intel Corp., where he first managed a team of more than 20 investment professionals focused on investments in emerging technologies in the broadband, media and communications sectors. At Intel, he subsequently was responsible for managing e-business and infrastructure investments in Latin America.
From 1994 to 1995, Banks was a vice president of Stanford Consulting Group Inc., where he specialized in intellectual property consulting for technology companies. Prior to 1994, he held various management positions with LECG (Law and Economics Consulting Group) and Cornerstone Research.
Banks received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and a Master of Arts degree in international policy studies from Stanford University, and an M.B.A. from UCLA Anderson School of Management.
Court Cunningham, Chief Executive Officer, Yodle
Court Cunningham joined Yodle in April 2006 as CEO. Prior to Yodle, Cunningham was COO at Community Connect (CCI), a niche social networking company, with responsibility for leading its consumer marketing, product management and development efforts.
Prior to joining CCI, Cunningham was senior vice president of marketing automation at DoubleClick. In this role, he was responsible for the sales, product management, operations and the P&L of DoubleClick's suite of hosted technology products for direct marketers.
Cunningham led the creation of DoubleClick's email marketing product, DARTmail, and over four years, built DARTmail into the industry leader, generating more revenues, customers and email delivery volume than any other player in the market.
Before joining DoubleClick, Cunningham worked as a case team leader at Bain & Co., a Boston-based consulting firm.
Cunningham received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
Michael R. Cote, Vice President, Dell SecureWorks
Mike Cote became chairman and CEO of SecureWorks in February of 2002 and led the company through an acquisition by Dell in February of 2011. Cote now heads Dell SecureWorks under the Dell brand. Under his leadership, the company has grown to become one of the leading security services firms. Prior to joining SecureWorks, Cote held executive positions with Talus Solutions, a pricing and revenue management software firm acquired by Manugistics in 2000. Cote joined Talus from MSI Solutions, a web application development and systems integration company where he was Chief Operating Officer. In addition to other technology executive roles, Cote's early career included international assignments with KPMG. Cote's leadership style is punctuated by open communication, high integrity, and a client-centric philosophy. He is a graduate of Boston College with a double major in computer science and accounting. Personally, Cote is actively involved in the Atlanta and technology community. He currently serves as a member of the Marist School Board of Trustees, the St. Joseph’s Hospital Mercy Board, and Chairman of Strategic Planning Committee for 10-year plan for Archdiocese of Atlanta, and a member of Business Executives for National Security (BENS), among others.
Mike was Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Regional winner for Alabama/Georgia/Tennessee in 2011.
He was awarded The Deal of the Year by The Association of Corporate Growth (ACG) and The IndUS Entrepreneurs (TiE) in 2011.
Thomas W. Naughton, Managing Director, NeoCarta Ventures
Tom Naughton was previously Vice President for GE Equity, the private equity division of GE and GE Capital.
Naughton received his MBA from The Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, where he graduated as an Edward Tuck Scholar with High Distinction; he also holds a BA in Mathematics from Dartmouth College.
Bill Nussey, President and CEO, Silverpop
Bill Nussey is CEO of Silverpop and author of the acclaimed book, "The Quiet Revolution in Email Marketing." Nussey has 20 years of experience as a chief executive for technology companies.
Prior to Silverpop, Nussey was president and CEO of iXL Inc., a publicly traded e-business consulting firm. During his tenure, iXL executed its initial public offering, grew revenues from $10 million to $120 million per quarter, and served multiple Fortune 500 customers including General Electric, JP Morgan and Delta.
Prior to iXL, Nussey was an investment professional with Greylock, where he worked on investments including DoubleClick, MediaMetrix and iXL. Before Greylock, Nussey was the co-founder and CEO of Da Vinci Systems.
In 2004, Nussey received the Direct Marketing Association's Marketing Technology and Internet Council Annual Award of Excellence, and was named Marketer of the Year by the Atlanta Interactive Marketing Association. He also serves on the board of directors of nuBridges and Air2Web.
Nussey holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from North Carolina State University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
W. Thomas Smith, Founder and Managing Partner, TTV Capital
Tom is a co-founder and managing partner of TTV Capital. He retired from IBM in 2000 after 30 years of service. From 1996 to his retirement, Tom served as vice president, Small and Medium Business, IBM Americas. Prior to that, he was the southern area general manager appointed in 1986, with responsibility for IBM's sales, marketing and services business for thirteen states. Tom’s community affiliations include the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta as Board Chairman for 1998-99, Central Atlanta Progress, the Carter Center and the Woodruff Arts Center. He received the Armin Maier citizenship award from the Atlanta Downtown Rotary Club in 1998.
Tom earned a B.S. degree in industrial management from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1969 and completed the executive program at Dartmouth's Amos Tuck School of Business in 1986. He is currently on the board of directors of Green Dot, Silverpop, ALI Solutions, eWise, IP Commerce and Microbilt. He was formerly an observer on the board of PayCycle.
Andreas Stavropoulos, Managing Director, Draper Fisher Jurvetson
Andreas Stavropoulos is a managing director at Draper Fisher Jurvetson (DFJ), where he serves on the boards of Akimbo, AppStream, everdream, H5 Technologies, MeetUp, Mobile 365, Pronto Networks, Silverpop, Technorati and Wavemarket. In addition, he led the firm's investments in Centerpost, ePocrates, 4info, Mimeo and Polaris Wireless. Stavropoulos focuses primarily on software investments (enterprise infrastructure and consumer/internet), wireless networking and technology-enabled services.
Prior to joining DFJ, Stavropoulos was with McKinsey & Co.'s San Francisco office, where he worked with senior management teams of corporate clients with an emphasis on information technology. Prior to McKinsey, he was a senior analyst at Cornerstone Research, a financial and economic consulting firm that helps resolve complex issues arising in high-profile business litigation.
Stavropoulos is a summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Harvard College in computer science. He also holds a Master of Science degree in computer science from Harvard University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar and graduated first in his class.
