&lt;p&gt;It&#039;s interesting the stats you&#039;ve cited to show that B2B marketers are growing faster in their interest towards using social media for demand generation.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;What is so interesting about your point on moving closer to measurable lifetime value - is when you think of the exponential value of the network of friends behind a single user post on to a major social network.  Email can be forwarded, but social media in the feed means that the friends and friends of friends are multiplies the lifetime value of a customer.&lt;/p&gt;
