Loren,

Congratulations on your new blog. Aren’t blogs also about facilitating dissent and discussion? If this blog is not about a community then it isn’t even a Web 2.0 tool.

For example, I think you are slightly off base about Web 3.0. With the advancements in integrated "dialog" platforms like VTrenz, doesn't email become dependent on its context in an overall conversation and relationship?

Research indicates that by 2012 ALL websites will be driven by actionable databases that integrate ALL your interactions with your customer including email. Doesn't it make sense that Web 3.0 is about the email sender's RELATIONSHIP with the receiver? Spam filters are already sending unsolicited email to the junk file. Doesn’t it make sense that it could prioritize my inbox so I read the high-value email first?

Think about it. With technology that is available today I already know every previous interaction I have had with the sender and the sender’s company – regardless of the channel. Even phone conversations are starting to become digitized in sales and professional services companies. Give me an email system that automatically gives me access to EVERY single “touch” that me or my company has had with the sender. Let me set my own automated email priorities.

I wonder if the email community isn’t becoming a little in-bred. Email marketing is obsolete unless it is part of a larger value-based dialog. Before further blogging, I would go spend some time with your sister company VTrenz.

Loren, are you going to post this blog? Or, is your blog just an advertising tool?
