The Salesforce.com number is impressive, but I think it's a little misleading. It's my impression that many people/companies open an account w/ Salesforce and never use it or have a disappointing experience (many reasons) and abandon it. In other words, there's a lot of churn. I'd like to see what the retention rates are compared to adoption. Also, would like to see the 2nd and 3rd categories broken out. Curious as to how many of those have migrated from Salesforce.com. How has the 3rd category grown against Salesforce.com over the last three years?

Lots of questions that beg answers.

Rather good article, really useful information. Never ever believed I'd find the information I need in this article. I've been hunting throughout the web for some time now and had been starting to get disappointed. Thankfully, I stumbled onto your internet site and received precisely what I was looking for.

[...] Over the course of two and half months of the Fall B2B Marketing University series, we polled the nearly 600 B2B marketers who attended the series, asking them questions about the state of their marketing automation adoption. (In fact, I reported on some early results from these surveys in a post last November.)

I wonder if Open Source CRM solutions like Sugar CRM are included in the "Other" vertical?

Seems a bit misleading.

Incredible that so many are using "No CRM Solution" or "Other", great opportunity for getting all the things described comes with using a system.

Sincerely,
