I am incredibly excited to share the news that IBM and Silverpop have signed a definitive agreement to combine our companies.
Over the last few years, I’ve looked at many different ways to accelerate Silverpop’s incredible success. But from my very first meeting with IBM, it was clear that combining our companies was better than any opportunity I’d considered. We share a deep passion for technology and its ability to change how people live and work. Our cultures and values are amazingly well-aligned. And we share a remarkably similar vision around the future of marketing — we both believe in the power of understanding customers as individuals and using it to deliver amazing customer experiences.
IBM was the first major company to weave together different marketing technologies into a single, unified vision. Their globally recognized CMO reports were among the industry’s earliest visions of how technology would transform marketing and the customer experience. Almost every combination of marketing solutions in the last year is following the roadmap IBM laid down years before.
Silverpop’s industry-leading cloud-based marketing platform coupled with IBM’s own marketing products and global footprint promises to re-invent the future of how organizations and their customers interact and engage. It’s hard for me to imagine a more promising combination.
Personally, I could not be more excited to play a leadership role in their organization going forward. I look forward to building on the vision we launched here at Silverpop years ago and working with IBM to usher in the next generation of marketing.
