Bill Nussey, President and Chief Executive Officer
Bill Nussey has 30 years of experience running technology and Internet companies. As CEO of Silverpop, an IBM company, he has guided the company as it became a leading provider of digital marketing software that enables personalized experiences. During its lifetime, Silverpop has grown to serve more than 5,000 organizations across more than 40 countries.
Prior to Silverpop, Nussey was the CEO of iXL, a 2,500 employee, publicly traded consulting firm that served clients including GE, Delta, and FedEx. Before that, he was an investor with venture capital firm, Greylock where he worked with some of the earliest internet companies like DoubleClick. Prior to that, Nussey was the co-founder and CEO of Da Vinci Systems, a provider of desktop software with over 3 million users, which he ultimately sold to publicly traded ON Technology.
Nussey has been honored with numerous awards including Consulting Magazine’s Most Influential Consultant in the World, the Direct Marketing Association's Marketing Award of Excellence and the Technology Association of Georgia’s Lifetime Achievement Award. He is the author of A Quiet Revolution in Email Marketing and is a regular speaker at industry, business and academic events. Over the years, he has sat on more than two dozen business and non-profit boards including Venture Atlanta and Techbridge.
He earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Jim McCormick, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Jim McCormick brings more than 20 years of financial, accounting, merger, operations and risk management experience to Silverpop. Most recently he was CFO and treasurer at Harbinger Corporation, a publicly traded B2B e-commerce provider. At Harbinger, McCormick supervised the integration of 14 acquisitions, overhauled financial and operating systems and helped drive a tenfold increase in market capitalization leading to the company's sale in mid-2000 for approximately $1.1 billion.
Prior to Harbinger, McCormick was CFO, treasurer and secretary at Knology Inc., a Georgia-based broadband telecommunications company. While at Knology, he executed Knology's public debt offering and raised more than $320 million of combined debt and equity to fund the company's expansion. McCormick has served as consulting manager in Andersen Consulting's Melbourne, Australia office, assisting Global 2000 companies with M&A feasibility, organizational structuring and profit improvement, and as auditor with Arthur Andersen & Co. in Atlanta, Ga.
McCormick is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Florida State University.
Jeff Browning, Senior Vice President of Product Development
In his 25 years of building and leading software development organizations, Jeff Browning has served a wide range of markets, from Fortune 500 to small business and consumer customer bases. In his role as senior vice president of product development at Silverpop, Browning leads all aspects of product development, including product management, engineering/development, architecture, quality assurance and release management.
Prior to joining Silverpop, Browning was CTO of Half Off Depot and senior vice president of engineering at Secureworks, where he led development, architecture, IT strategy, quality assurance and PMO. Before Secureworks, Browning was an SVP of product development at Air2Web and also held positions at MultiActive Software, Fiserv, BellSouth and the State of Georgia.
Browning is a graduate of the University of Georgia and holds a Masters of Business Information Systems from Georgia State University.
Todd McCormick, Senior Vice President of Sales
Todd McCormick brings 15 years of experience in executive sales management and team development to his role of senior vice president of sales at Silverpop. His expertise in building strategic partnerships and penetrating emerging markets and product lines, coupled with his understanding of the critical linkage between sales and marketing, makes him ideally situated to lead Silverpop's sales team to continued new and existing global sales growth.
Prior to joining Silverpop, McCormick served as vice president of sales for PGi, where he led all sales efforts to bring PGi's innovative technology to market, teaching companies to leverage best-in-class video conferencing tools to grow their business. He previously spent 12 years at CareerBuilder.com, where as senior vice president of sales he developed national sales teams and strategies to grow business in the U.S. staffing sector and the company's Canadian division.
A recognized Sales 2.0 thought leader, McCormick speaks at several events each year, teaching sales and marketing leaders how to differentiate their companies to drive more revenue. He received his MBA from Emory University's Goizueta Business School after earning his bachelor's degree in business management from the University of Alabama.
Will Schnabel, Managing Director and Senior Vice President-International Business Development
As senior vice president of international business development, Will Schnabel is responsible for growing and driving deeper integration with Silverpop's extensive ecosystem of technology and service partners, helping customers reach even higher levels of value through Silverpop's marketing solutions. Previously, he served as the company's head of international markets, overseeing Silverpop's international operations and expansion strategy across Europe and Asia.
Schnabel joined Silverpop in 2007 following the company's acquisition of Vtrenz, for which he served as president and CEO. Upon joining Silverpop, he assumed responsibility for overall operations and product direction of Silverpop's Engage B2B solution, an industry-leading demand generation and lead-management technology.
Prior to Vtrenz, Schnabel served in an executive capacity at Accenture, a global management-consulting firm, where he provided strategic guidance to global 500 organizations on the application and implementation of advanced business technologies. Schnabel is a frequent speaker on the topics of digital strategies, marketing automation technologies, and the influence of SaaS-based solutions on optimizing business performance.
Bryan Brown, Vice President of Product Strategy
As vice president of product strategy, Brown is responsible for defining the company vision as well as the strategy and market opportunity for the Silverpop product portfolio. Previously Brown was Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of Vtrenz (acquired by Silverpop in 2007), a pioneer in the marketing automation space and inventor of multi-track, multi-step campaign automation and the visual lead scoring model.
Brown has 15 years of experience leading companies and teams in creating and bringing to market cloud based software with extensive experience in marketing automation. He is a sought-after marketing and technology thought leader, having helped hundreds of businesses adapt and thrive in the ever-changing digital age of marketing.
Brown graduated with a Bachelors of Science in business information systems from the University of Utah and is a self-taught computer programmer.
Jeff Dernavich, Vice President of Product Management
As vice president of product management, Dernavich is responsible for the Silverpop platform – prioritizing ongoing development efforts, setting future roadmaps, and building an excellent user experience. In his 21 years working in technology, Dernavich has served many different roles across the product development spectrum. The last decade has been in product leadership roles at SaaS companies where he has helped to build innovative products to meet future market needs.
Prior to joining Silverpop, Dernavich served in leadership roles across engineering, product management, professional services and operations at Proficient Systems (acquired by LivePerson) while helping author a patent on triggering intelligent online sales conversations. Prior to that, he was senior product manager and director of engineering at VerticalOne (acquired by S1 Corporation and later sold to Yodlee), a pioneer in the account aggregation space. Dernavich started his career with Accenture working with clients in the telecommunications industry.
He graduated cum laude from Wake Forest University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
Dave Faupel, Vice President of Marketing Communications
As vice president of marketing communications for Silverpop, Faupel is responsible for all lead generation, opportunity creation, corporate communications, customer marketing, creative services and marketing operations for Silverpop.
Faupel brings over 20 years of experience in marketing communications, product marketing, corporate communications, and results measurement to Silverpop. Prior to joining Silverpop, Faupel led marketing for the electronic health record (EHR) division for McKesson Provider Technologies. Earlier in his career, Dave was VP of Communications at MFG.com and began his career at marketing, public relations and investor relations firms. At Ogilvy, Dave was the lead on the WebMD account during their $10 billion merger with Healtheon.
Faupel recently completed a four-year term on the board of TechBridge,a nonprofit organization that drives community impact by bringing affordable business & technology expertise to other nonprofits. He graduated from Hofstra University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications.
Amy Gabel, Vice President of Support Services
Gabel is a results oriented leader with proven success in building high performing teams. As vice president of support services her responsibilities include overseeing the support, training, deliverability, provisioning and integrations groups as well as direct responsibility for the EMEA support team located in the UK.
Prior to joining Silverpop, Gabel ran operations as the president of Market Technologies, Inc., a multi-million dollar data processing organization in Roswell, GA. Prior to that, she was the vice president of client services and database at Experian (previously Direct Marketing Technology) where she led a department of over 400 employees across multiple locations.
Amy graduated with honors from Indiana University, Bloomington with a B.S. in Marketing. She attended Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management where she graduated from the Executive MBA Development Program.
Laurie Hood, Vice President of Product Marketing
As vice president of product marketing for Silverpop, Hood is responsible for product- and market-specific messaging and positioning, product launch activities and sales enablement.
Hood brings over 20 years of experience in technology marketing and product management to Silverpop. Prior to joining Silverpop, she was vice president of product management for Equifax Technology and Analytical Services. Earlier in her career, Hood worked with several marquee companies, including KnowledgeStorm (subsequently acquired by TechTarget), S1 Corporation and Accenture, gaining marketing, product management and business partner management experience.
Hood currently serves on the board of the Technology Association of Georgia—Marketing Society. She graduated cum laude from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science in economics and a minor in computer science.
Loren McDonald, Vice President of Industry Relations
McDonald’s role at Silverpop is to educate clients and prospects on best practices and emerging trends in email, mobile and social marketing and marketing automation. He has 30 years of experience in marketing, consulting and strategic planning. McDonald has held executive marketing positions at companies including Lyris, Inc., EmailLabs, USWeb/CKS and Arthur Andersen.
He has written more than 500 articles and blogs, is a frequent speaker and is author of the ebook “Almost Everything You Wanted to Know About Email Marketing.” He has won several awards including the eec 2011 Marketer of the Year and the 2005 American Business Award's (The Stevie's) Marketing Executive of the Year.
Rachel Orston, Vice President of Services
As vice president of services for Silverpop, Orston is responsible for all service delivery, custom integrations, industry solution development and emerging applications for Silverpop.
Orston has spent the last 18 years creating, launching and marketing successful technology products and solutions for some of the most well-known technology brands, including Microsoft, Sony and EMC. Prior to joining Silverpop, she founded and led CoThrive, a startup focused on helping technology companies improve their project execution. Orston has also held leadership roles with EMC and iXL with a focus on digital media and industry solution strategies. Orston is a graduate from Northwestern University with a masters in management of technology from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Passionate about mentoring entrepreneurs, Orston serves as an advisor to TiE Youth Entrepreneurs , Points of Light’s Civic Incubator and serves on the board of StartupChicks.
Kelly Thompson, Vice President of Operations
As vice president of operations, Thompson is responsible for managing all operations related to Silverpop’s production SaaS systems. A seasoned leader with a proven track record of combining strong leadership skills with deep technical expertise, Thompson brings over 20 years of experience in managing complex technology environments to Silverpop.
Prior to joining Silverpop, she was vice president of platform services for LexisNexis/ChoicePoint supporting multiple data centers and managing over 300 applications. Earlier in her career, Thompson held IT roles with several prominent Atlanta companies, including BellSouth and various divisions of Turner Broadcasting/CNN.
Thompson graduated from The Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in management and subsequently earned her Masters of Science in information systems from Georgia State University.
